Dear Ms. Ambrose:
The other day our 9th grade english class went to the art exibit in Hagerstown, Maryland.
While there, we were to pick an artist out to the selection that was on display, so I
decided to choose your excellent piece of work entitled, The City at Night. I picked this
particular piece because of how wonderfully you captured the light of city beaming off
the waters surface, I also liked how you contrasted the lights from the building to the
dark, gloomy water.
I personally connected to this panting when it reminded me of the wonderful vacation I
had just experienced the prior summer. My family and I went to Key West for a week, and
one day we decided to take a boat ride at night, and this is exactly how I remembered it.

I very much enjoyed your masterfully painted piece and hope to see more of your work in
exibits such as the one I went to with my classmates.
