Younger Woman Less Likely to Stop Using Alcohol and Tobacco during Pregnancy
Although there have been drops in joint use of tobacco and alcohol with pregnant woman,
the rates still remain at a constant level. Younger woman are as likely as older woman to
use alcohol and tobacco, but are less likely to stop using alcohol and tobacco during
pregnancy. Pregnant woman 18-20 years old have remained unchanged at 4 % from the 1980's,
when it comes to using tobacco and alcohol. 
We cannot resist in our efforts to reduce the number of young people who start using
tobacco and alcohol, said CDC Director Jeffrey P. Koplan. Alcohol and tobacco use was
more common with pregnant woman that had low education and were unmarried.
